CORK FABRIC

Cork fabric is a unique craft material with a cork surface on a fabric support. When we use a cotton backing, as offered by Folclore Crafts, we get a 100% plant-based leather alternative. It looks like leather, but can be used as a regular fabric.

Also known as cork leather, it was born of the perfect marriage between human talent and nature’s richness, being much more than the best “animal free” and vegan substitute for leather.

FOLCLORE CRAFTS' CORK FABRIC

We are able to offer a wide range of cork fabrics, from very thin and pliable options to thicker and more resistant ones, depending on the backing used (including cotton fabrics).

Folclore Crafts works with a local Portuguese company and, together, we've been able to develop unique and original products.

Our cork fabrics are PETA approved.

FLECKED METALLIC CORK FABRIC

Our flecked metallic cork fabrics have become a huge sucess.

We can have different colors as backings, but the gold is the most popular.

It results beautifully either in natural  or painted colors.

REVERSIBLE CORK FABRIC

The sturdy reversible cork fabrics are an exclusive product, perfect for the use in leather crafts projects. It's much more similar to leather than to a standard fabric.

Four different options are available depending on the thickness needed.  

COTTON BACKED CORK FABRIC

Recently we have launched cork fabrics with cotton backings, including Oeko_tex certified and organic cotton fabrics.

Now we are happy to say that our cork fabric is a 100% plant-based leather alternative. 

These are exclusive products developed by Folclore crafts and our local cork manufacturer partner. Different colors in ligtweight and heavyweight options are available. 

HOW TO USE

Genuine cork fabric can be hand and machine sewed or used with glue. Its beautiful texture makes it great for many craft projects...

It is used in sustainable fashion, vegan leather products, home-decor, sports and leisure.

HOW TO BUY CORK FABRIC

In our online shop you"ll find cork leather pre cut sheets. The sizes available are:

• 20cmx50cm (approx. 7 7/8"x20");
• 50cmx50cm (approx. 20"x20");
• 70cmx50cm (approx. 27 7/8"x20").   

If you prefer by the meter/yard,  it will be possible to choose a personalized product, including backing, color, pattern...
